Award Categories 2018


The Awards are designed to showcase and celebrate marketing talent across the region. The following award categories reflect the breadth of specialisms and roles across the profession, and enable talent to be recognised across the career span from Rising Star of the Year to Outstanding Achievement.

Deadline for nominations is Monday 16th July 2018.

Rising Star of the Year

This award shines a light on our leaders of the future and is open to marketers under the age of 30 (as at 16th July 2018) who have excelled in their role.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Client service excellence
  • Recent projects / achievements
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Initiative and willingness to development in role
  • Commitment and enthusiasm
  • Team working and flexible working skills

Marketer of the Year

This award is open to all marketing managers or similar who have had a positive impact on their organisation. They should be able to demonstrate strong strategic planning, creativity and innovation.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Evidence of detailed research and analysis
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Client service excellence
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Commitment and enthusiasm
  • Team working and flexible working skills
  • Proven results and effectiveness of campaigns / projects
  • Budget planning and cost effectiveness

Marketing Director of the Year

This award is open to all marketing directors or similar who have overall responsibility for their agency or team. They should have at least 10 years experience in the industry and be able to demonstrate strong leadership and strategic overview.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Increased/sustained financial achievement for the company
  • Evidence of detailed research and analysis
  • Client or stakeholder service excellence
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Approachability and team management
  • Strategic and business planning
  • Commitment and enthusiasm

Digital Campaign of the Year

This award recognises the best use of online or digital technology to promote a product or service. This can include social media, digital advertising, email marketing campaigns, VR, apps or other online or digital platforms. This category is open to agencies and inhouse marketing teams.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Effectiveness of campaign
  • Engagement and audience reach
  • Return on investment
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Best use of platform

 

Integrated Campaign of the Year (Agency)

The judges will be looking for the best use of cross channel marketing over a range of platforms. The nomination should demonstrate a clear strategy and show synergy across the platform. This category is open to agencies.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Effectiveness of campaign
  • Engagement and audience reach
  • Return on investment
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Best use of multiple channels
  • Synergy and consistency across platforms

 

Integrated Campaign of the Year (In-House)

The judges will be looking for the best use of cross channel marketing over a range of platforms. The nomination should demonstrate a clear strategy and show synergy across the platform. This category is open to in-house marketing teams.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Effectiveness of campaign
  • Engagement and audience reach
  • Return on investment
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Best use of multiple channels
  • Synergy and consistency across platforms

 

Not for Profit Campaign of the Year

This award is open to all those working in the public and not for profit sectors. The campaign can be across any channel and must be able to demonstrate innovation, effectiveness and return on investment.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Effectiveness of campaign
  • Engagement and audience reach
  • Return on investment
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Best use of platform

 

Brand Creation of the Year (Agency)

This award looks at the development or creation of a brand identity and is open to all agencies.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • A clear understanding of the client’s (or companies) strategy, needs and aspirations for the rebrand, changes or creation of the brand identity.
  • Design
  • Implementation
  • Consistency across platforms
  • Originality, innovation and creativity

 

Brand Creation of the Year (In-House)

This award looks at the development or creation of a brand identity and is open to all in house marketing teams.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • A clear understanding of the client’s (or companies) strategy, needs and aspirations for the rebrand, changes or creation of the brand identity.
  • Design
  • Implementation
  • Consistency across platforms
  • Originality, innovation and creativity

 

Product Launch of the Year

This award recognises the launch of a new product or service to the market. This could include a digital campaign, launch event, PR, social media etc. The nominee must demonstrate an understanding of the audience and an effective use of the medium to engage with the end user.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Effectiveness of campaign
  • Engagement
  • Audience research
  • Originality, innovation and creativity
  • Clear objectives of the product/service launch

 

Agency of the Year (Under 20 employees)

This award is for a Marketing Agency which has enjoyed an exceptional year and can demonstrate outstanding achievements. The judges will be looking at a number of areas including strategy, growth, innovation, client service and staff development.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Business progress and improvement over the year
  • Excellence in the delivery of client service
  • Added value to clients
  • Originality, innovation and creativity
  • Effectiveness of campaigns and results measured
  • Provided a positive working environment
  • Sets itself apart from competitors
  • Staff development and training opportunities as well as company ethos and work ethic

 

Agency of the Year (Over 20 employees)

This award is for a Marketing Agency which has enjoyed an exceptional year and can demonstrate outstanding achievements. The judges will be looking at a number of areas including strategy, growth, innovation, client service and staff development.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • Business progress and improvement over the year
  • Excellence in the delivery of client service
  • Added value to clients
  • Originality, innovation and creativity
  • Effectiveness of campaigns and results measured
  • Provided a positive working environment
  • Sets itself apart from competitors
  • Staff development and training opportunities as well as company ethos and work ethic

 

In-House Marketing Team of the Year

This award is for an in-house Marketing Team that has been instrumental to the success of their organisation can demonstrate outstanding achievements.

Judges will assess the nomination on the following areas:

  • How your results have benefited your company and/or clients
  • Ability to work well as a team
  • Effective collaboration with other departments or service providers
  • Originality, innovation and creativity
  • Effectiveness of campaigns and results measured
  • Staff development and training opportunities

 

Outstanding Achievement Award

This Award is for individuals who have shown significant achievement over many years and made an outstanding contribution to the marketing profession or the company which they are part of.

There are no interviews taking place for this award as the winner is chosen by a committee. For 2018 judges across all category panels will also be able to submit nominations for the Outstanding Achievement Award.
